Cook's Index is an index of U. S. popular cookery periodicals published in the English language from 1975 to the present. Standard cookery periodicals are indexed for periodical articles with recipes and are indexed by author and subject. In addition, articles with recipes found in a number of regional magazines from around the country are included as are articles with recipes in a number of national women's periodicals. All articles are indexed because of the fact they contain recipes for the preparation of food or beverages.
Approximately 15,000 cookbooks are also indexed and contained in the print volumes of 1 and 2 of the
Cook's Index. Beginning with its internet publication, only periodical articles are added to the
Cook's Index.
